St Ives Theatre runs on passion, teamwork, and community spirit and we’re always on the lookout for volunteers to help make the magic happen.

Whether you have a few hours a week or just want to lend a hand now and then, there’s a place for you here!

Roles You Can Get Involved In:

  • Selling tickets in the Box Office
  • Distributing flyers and spreading the word
  • Joining our Hair and make-Up teams
  • Costume assistance (sewing, sourcing or designing)
  • Designing and making props
  • Painting scenery and sets
  • Helping with lighting and sound
  • Chaperoning
  • Supporting the front-of-house and welcoming audiences

For Young Performers: Kidz R Us Membership

Does your child love to perform, or dream of stepping into the spotlight?
Whether they’re confident on stage or just beginning to explore their creativity, Kidz R Us is the perfect place to grow, shine and belong.

We welcome budding actors, singers, and dancers of all experience levels to join our award-winning youth theatre group based at St Ives Theatre.

 

What We Offer:

  • The chance to perform in professional-standard productions
  • Expert training in acting, singing and dance
  • A fun, welcoming environment that boosts confidence, skills and friendships
  • A pathway into one of Cornwall’s most respected youth theatre companies
 

 

When Can They Join?

  • January – at the start of the new year
  • August – through new member auditions for our big Christmas production

We welcome children from 8 years old, starting from the September they move into school year 4, to join our exciting youth theatre programme.

 

For Adults: Get Involved in Our Over-18 Shows

It’s not just about the kids, we also stage fantastic adult productions throughout the year at St Ives Theatre.

If you’re over 18 and passionate about performing, or have always wanted to try, we’d love to see you at auditions for our next adult show. No experience necessary, just enthusiasm and a love for theatre!

 

Opportunities Include:

  • Acting, singing and dancing on stage
  • Backstage roles in lighting, sound, props, and more

Do you love the buzz of live performance? Enjoy meeting people and want to be part of something truly brilliant? Join our amazing Front-of-House Team and help us create unforgettable theatre experiences right here in St Ives.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Welcoming audiences
  • Helping visitors find their seats
  • Promoting sales of Raffles and Programmes
  • Supporting the box office
  • Bringing energy, smiles, and magic to our venue!
 

No experience needed – we’ll show you the ropes! All we ask is that you volunteer for a couple of performances a month.

It costs over £200,000 a year to keep the Theatre alive. That includes staging our much-loved shows with Kidz R Us and maintaining our beautiful theatre. That’s £500 every single day we need to raise.
