We are proud to be the home of Kidz R Us, a nationally acclaimed youth theatre company based right here at St Ives Theatre.
Founded in 1994, Kidz R Us has built a reputation for delivering outstanding, high-energy productions featuring talented young performers from across West Cornwall. With a strong focus on building confidence, teamwork and creativity, the group provides exceptional training and performance opportunities for children and teenagers.
Each year, Kidz R Us stages a full programme of musicals, plays and concerts, many of them right here at the theatre. Bringing our stage to life with colour, talent and energy.

At St Ives Theatre, we’re passionate about supporting local schools and young people through a wide range of tailored outreach activities designed to engage every interest—both onstage and behind the scenes.
What We Offer:
- School Visits & Theatre Tours – Experience the magic of live theatre up close with guided tours of our historic building and backstage areas. Learn how a show comes together from rehearsal to curtain call.
- Workshops & Masterclasses – From acting and singing to stage combat and improvisation, our hands-on workshops are designed to build skills and confidence in a fun, supportive environment.
- Technical Theatre Training – For students interested in lighting, sound, set design, and stage management, we provide specialised training sessions. Develop practical skills and discover the vital roles that bring productions to life—no spotlight required.
- Use of Theatre & Stage Space – Schools can hire our auditorium and rehearsal rooms for their own productions, assemblies, or special events, with technical support available.
